Agree with Cambria...a lake land = Cumbria and replace U (sort of turn) with A (american)

Tenet is a palindrome. One of the meanings of preposterous is literally inverted, reading the same forwards and backwards.
Preposterous is from the Latin word which means reversed
Is the clue exactly as you have typed it please?
