Which fictitious city's main attractions are a temple whose tower extends to a height of some 1000 yards; and a royal kitchen about a fifth as tall, with an oven similar in size to the Dome of St Pauls Cathedral?  Anyone able to point me in the right direction, please?

I'm not sure about this, but it might be BROBDINAG in Gulliver's Travels.
Is it out of Gormenghast?
