Hi steve, well I guess you were Having us on when you asked about Thailand back in September, looks as if you know it quite well, so well in fact you appear to be advertising it!
The traffic fumes in Bangkok are the worst I have ever had to breathe. The traffic itself is dreadful. Considering how keen they are to get foreign tourists, remarkably few Thais speak any English at all. The British Consulate staff are absolutely brilliant, especially with all the elderly British men who are having difficulty with their new young Thai fiancees. Like producing their correct birth certificates/passports/divorce certificates, which only too often seem to contain the wrong information. Curious, that.
If you must go to Thailand, go to Chiang Mai instead.
