What would be the square dimensions of a 4cu,ft bag of bean bag refills, and whats the formula to work this out? Thanks in advance.

Nearly 19" each side. You want the cube root of the volume to work it out

The cube root of 4 = 1.587401052

(If the volume is in cubic feet then the answer is in feet)

to work out the cubic capacity (in inches) of say, a box is:

Length x Width x Height / 1728

I use it all the time at work....
