Sorry Chris. Too many silly answers. We were in a bar and rolling six got you a free round. We did it 3 times
A million-to-one chance succeeds nine times out of ten; so rolling three sixes on the trot must be as near to a dead cert as one can reasonably get.
I'm still trying to figure out how you can get a row with a single die . . . whereas rolling 3 consecutive sixes almost invariably provokes a row of some kind.
I didn't understand the question. :-)
Of course this answer of 0.46% assumes we are just interested in the outcome of these three throws. If you throw a die 1000 times, say, there is a much greater chance of getting 3 consecutive sixes at some point
This reminds me of the panic that ensued when someone calculated the odds of a piece of space debris hitting a human being - surprisingly large, until you compare it to the odds of it hitting a particular person - and understanding the difference :-)
By 'large' I meant unlikely of course ...
All this assumes that when the die is thrown the outcome is a truly random event. In practice a person could learn how to make it look random, but stack the odds in favour of a six.
