Red Moon

I awoke to see a glorious red moon last night.
Just wondered what caused it

Can't be due to a lunar eclipse which only occurs at full moon. If it were full last night, it would be Good Friday tomorrow.

Not that pesky Saharan dust again, was it?

Strangely enough air pollution can be a cause of a red moon so Saharan dust is a candidate. More likely, if the moon is low in the sky, scattering of light by the Earth's atmosphere similar to a sunset.
