Circular and have an inclination equal to 0 (zero)... meaning it can only be over the equator at an altitude of approximately 35,700 kilometers...

no oval orbit could be geo stationary


The speeds of something in an oval orbit varies. So that equal areas are swept out (by the radius vector) but that is a bit technical. The areal bit is Keplers second law I think.

I sometimes operate a satellite truck for work..we use a geostationary satellite which, i've been told, moves in an elliptical pattern....
