friend tells me they've invented a technology whereas a submarine can create it's own bubble and somehow sustain it, traveling through the water as a small plane moves through the air, frictionless, as it is the bubble moving through the water as apposed to the sub. has anyone heard anything about this, or is it just a crock?

I've heard of something similar with regard to torpedos.

I guess it's not inconceivable to scale it up to a sub but I'd reckon this is what he's talking about

Here you go...It's called supercavitation

beauty, yes, i guess he's not out to lunch after all. in hindsight it was the torpedos he was talking about, and being as subs fire torpedos, hence my confusion . but as you say its conceivable to jack it up to the sub i guess. thanx jake!! i'll read up on it and get back to him.
Question Author
ah ther's the sub, well he's spot on then, and so are you apparently . thanx again.
!!!!! so truth is stranger than fiction in this case. Thank you friend from me maxximus, I would probably never have heard of this otherwise.
