Study design for dissertation

Not 100% sure where to put this question but I think this might be the best place. I am writing my ethical approval for my dissertation and I am stuck on the study design- all this single-blind stuff.

I am using 30 subjects all, selected from my hockey club and Uni, any weight, as long as it below 13stone, age above 18. I am testing the effects on reaction time of red bull and caffeine. Week one, testing them firstly without any substance, then again 30mins later after ingesting caffeine. Week two, testing them firstly without any substance then again, 30mins later after ingesting red bull and comparing the results.

Now how to I describe that in the right way? I have no idea about this single-blind, cohort etc etc.

When you say dissertation, do you mean you are working on a post graduate degree? If so, it sounds like you have a lot of reading to do. I suggest you start by reading some basic statistics text books particularly about experiment design. If you are a post graduate student, you should not be asking these basic questions.
