Name of brain area named after...

What's the name of the USA Railroad worker - and therefore the area of brain named after him - who found himself the wrong end of a pipe exploding with dynamite? It punched a hole out of the top of his head. The area where he was then missing brain in the frontal lobe was named after him as its absence changed his character. I have done a bit of googling but haven't found the name.
As a matter of interest I was also tryng to track down how the repair was done in those days. I have heard of the case before on TV but that is skipped over - maybe he just wore a reliable hat afterwards?
