Is the moon a natural object?

I'd hope that even if I was ten years old I'd realise the moon was a natural object rather than made of cheese or some non-natural made object.#

The moon is likely to be the result of an asteroid hitting the earth (millions of years ago) and what we know as the moon breaking off. This was apparently at the time that the earth was molten and still forming.
