Maths question

This is a susidiary part of a crossword, and I don't know where to start!

Square one plus four x sine of sum of clue nos.

The clues run from 1 to 36 inclusive, and I make that 666, which would fit in with other indications in the crossword.

Help please!

Thank you Physicsgirl - I reposted this question on Q & P, and someone pointed me in the direction of this link. I wish I'd found it earlier .... I thought I'd looked for one quite thoroughly and can't think how I missed it !
