I once read an article, i think it was in the readers digest, that people who have a colour deficiency, don't usually make good dancers, or are able to sing in tune, and will not play a musicle instrument well, does any one have any experience of this, ?as i am red-green deficient, and the above certainly applies to me.

I don't see why this is so.

Most colorblindness is due to cone cells in the eye that aren't functioning correctly.

How this affects anything other than sight, I don't know.
My fiance has red/green problems too.He can't dance, sing, play an instrument or anything else that requires artistic talent.I don't think it has anything to do with his colour blindness though.

maybe It's just coincidence then, dont really know the answer, thanks, pete.
That's true for inherited nut there are other causes of colour blindness that may indicate brain problems.

for example is linked with a loss of sense of smell.

I think the word usually may be at fault - may be best not to rely on thr RD for medical advice :c)
I've never heard of colour blindness being linked to artistic ability.

I 'suffer' from a medium degree of blue-green deficiency and [used to] dance, sing, play 3 instruments very well and others mediocre, and I am lucky enough to be able to paint any object so that it is actually recognised by others.

I believe the blue-green one is very common and is present in at least quarter of the european males to some degree. Very few people are completely colour blind to the degree that they see everything in black and grey.
its because it is X linked and these are all things men cant do.

Have you been warching strictly come dancing - they have even found an Afro Caribean man who can't dance. - but I dont thinnk he is colour blind.
I can't sing, dance, play music and too fat to fly.
Perfect colour perception though.
