cattito, do you mean you've bought new ones & they don't dry the pots properly? Wash them in hot water two or three times, no softener, that should make them more absorbent.

I have the same problem I put them in the dish washer with the dishes - never works

I think linen are better - I've got some that I've had for 5 years and they're still ok - I use them once and wash as I don't think they are very hygienic - to leave hanging around - but most stuff goes in the dish washer

I find the waffle-weave ones seem to work best these days. Like others say, give them a couple of hot washes and don't use fabric conditioner. (It effectively puts a layer of plastic on the fibres). Ordinary cheap cotton tea towels can have cotton oil in the thread. This is hard to get rid of and prevents the towel from absorbing the water when you're trying to dry something. Avoid like the plague any that say to 'Pull into shape after washing'. They're cheap rubbish.

Don't add fabric conditioner to your wash, it stops them asorbing moisture
