Is there a particular part of the sky where this will occur, N,S,E or W? Or shall we just gaze upwards and hope for the best as tonight they're predicting clear skies and I don't want to miss a thing.

Look to the North East, if you're not sure where this is from your location see if you can spot the North star and look in that general direction. If the skies are clear tonight you might be in luck as there is a new moon also which will make the shower easier to see... try to go somewhere where there are no street lights etc

they say that they could be anywhere, so I'll wrap up warm, with jammies on and hope I dont freeze to death !
Gaze up and hope for the best.
Last time we had a shower, it was amazing, so fascinating x
The radiant, the point from which the meteors appear to come from is just below the constellation Cassiopeia, the W shaped set of stars fairly high in the sky, although they can appear anywhere.

Try sitting on a deckchair if you have one, it gives you a good angle and eases any strain on your neck.

The best time to watch is between midnight and dawn, this is true for all meteor showers
