The idea of cause implies time. There is a cause and it has an effect.
This makes sense in everything we experience in our lives because there is time. Time started in the big bang as did physical space.
The notion of before and after cause and effect do not have any meaning in that context.
If you could roll back the clock time would just stop at that point
