If some other religion's major festival had been hijacked in such a crass and materialistic way there would be riots in the streets!!

It has now become such an orgy of greed and overindulgance I don't know why the name Christ should be attached to it any more. Why not rename it "Greedfest"?

The whole affair is now such a pain and a number of other people I know have said to me they also dread it coming around. Of course we always follow like sheep every year instead of saying enough is enough!

I agree with all above. I hate Christmas and I don't know many people who really like it, although they profess to. The Kleenezee man has just put his brochures through the door and guess what was the top one - yes you guessed right - it was the special Christmas one. I haven't even finished going through summer yet without having to start thinking about Christmas. Personally I would rather have Hallowe'en, such fun (except if louts start throwing eggs and flour).

I enjoy Christmas, its one of the few times that most of our family get together (leaving troubles and differences) at the door as it were.

I agree it's a 'big-wig' fest and overpriced to most of us paupers, but fortunately I haven't seen a Christmas tree yet! (Probably next week though)

I've decided not to send any Christmas cards - I don't really mean the sentiments. If anyone sends me one that's their bad luck, they won't get one in return. Bah humbug! Glad I am allowed to grouch on here it might make me feel a bit better about it.

I loathe it with a passion, sorry to go humbug, but another few weeks will see christmas paper, cards in some shops, before people have a chance to enjoy a summer break, or anything else for that matter.

SR it's not so much not liking Christmas its the fact all the shops prepare, sell, flog and generally get in their christmas tat in september, bombarding poor people with it until their ears and eyes bleed. It should start
20th December no earlier, and be over on the 26th December, which is when the sales start anyway.
