I can hear my mother's ghost tutting, "So terribly, terribly common. Only common people put their Christmas trees up before Christmas Eve. That's the way it was when I worked in the Big House and that's the way it'll always be in this house".
The guy across the road from me sets the time for the street, usually first Saturday in December when all his Grandkids arrive mob handed and do the job. After that all the houses that get decorated are done within a couple of days.
As usual, keeping fingers crossed for the berried holly in the garden. If the birds leave us some that would be good. If not, no decorations this year unless we use sea buckthorn from the cliffs.
Grandchild arrives on 20th for Christmas, we'll do it then so she can "help". We'll buy it the weekend before probably though OH would wait until 24th, 5pm to get a cheapy.
Too early for us. It goes up 23 Dec and down 1 Jan. Christmas decorations in the house start going up in the beginning of Dec. but usually down on New Year's Eve as by then I'm tired of all the red.
