Ban Christmas Full Stop

Dont you think its about time they banned christmas...?,Every year its the same old story december 25th and its christmas day.I would quite happily block it out,I think we should have it at different times each year.what do you think...?

The title of your question seems to be in conflict with the substance of it. At first it seems that you want to ban Christmas, then it appears that you only wish to move it around.

While I'm not going to be seen out on the streets holding up banners saying that we should ban Christmas, I certainly couldn't care less if anybody actually did so. However, I fail to see the point in varying the date. (It's already confusing enough with different countries, particularly in eastern Europe, celebrating Christmas on different dates).

Hi chris...... I can't block it out as it's my dads birthday.... He passed away 7 years ago...and yes his name was Noel.

He always got two pressies btw :)

You can't bad christmas! When else do I get the chance to be off work for 10 days (and still get paid) and get blathered everyday (which include going to my mum and dads and supping their festive booze) and not care about the hangover the next morning?

Ban christmas? No way! Its the one time of year i can get away with acting younger than my children and thoroughly enjoy myself, i will never deny my kids the happiness i always got from christmas

Yes you can't ban Christmas and move it around that doesn't make sense.

Why should it be banned anyway. If someone doesn't want to celebrate it then don't - its not compulsory. If you are happy to block it out then do so.

i think maybe christmas should come around every 5 years it would be better appreciated as its getting a bit watered down now that it comes around so quickly, not only that we would have longer to save for it more money to spend on it, we could still have the holiday from work though every year.

I accept that Athley is obviously a Christmas lover but it's absolutely no good his/her saying to Christmas-haters "Just block it out". It's impossible to function in the normal world without it impinging on a non-Christmas existance e.g I went in the Post Office this morning to carry out a totally non- Christmas transaction and had to queue behind millions of people sending parcels to Timbuctoo etc etc etc And for non-Christians to pretend to celebrate Christmas is the height of hypocrisy.

i say this every year and next year i will put my money where my mouth is and fly out some where hot next xmas eve and come home when its all over, and avoid the pressey buying, the crowds and the repeats on the tv.
