HELP ! I have no idea what to buy my mum this year. Money is tight so only have about 50 to spend on her. She is 60, on a diet (so can't get her clothes as they won't fit in a few months), she has all the jewelry she needs, she has sensitive skin so can't get her perfume, makeup, lotions etc. No hobbies as such either. Want to get her something special for being the best mum in the world but don't know what. Spa days, west end shows etc are looking a bit pricey. Can anyone help please? Pretty please?

Hi gilli - I;ve given this as an answer before but I always think a luxury version of an everyday item is a good pressie, something you wouldn't buy yourself. What about a really nice purse/wallet, she'd think of you everytime she used it and a purse becomes a treasured item. Not exciting I know but you could get a Radley one or another designer.
Or a really fab tote/shopper type bag, they get used all the time and a trendy one would be great.
If you have a local beauty salon you could pay for your mum to have a massage/half a day pamper session/pedicure/manicure. What about a trip to the hairdressers? Does she read? If so, you could buy her a couple of decent hardbacks. You say she has no hobbies. Is there any hobby she has shown a slight interest in?
I have bought my mum a digital photo frame from amazon and I am going to upload loads of pictures of family onto it.

I know she will love it!!
i readthe question and though digital photo frame and then as i read the answers i see someone has already suggested that. Its a great idea, all mums love pictures of their family, grandchildren, favorite places etc and i have told my husband thats what i want so hope he doesn't disappoint!!
Im getting mu mum a dog. she doesnt know it yet. how would your mum feel about a dog/cat? it would certainly be worth the look on face when she opens the box...

I am a mum of around the same age and I WOULD REALLY LOVE A BIG BOUQUET OF SEASONAL FLOWERS! to me this is as good as anything....and perhaps add a little note saying something special! I am sure that will tears to her eyes!
Or a real photo album? I am sure she would appreciate the time and effort taken by yourself to thoughtfully arrange the photos. Not expensive either.
Well being in the same age bracket, I have been giving this a lot of thought and nothing would please me better than being given a gift of a day out with my son/daughter. Just them and me. Perhaps a trip out into the countryside and a meal at a nice country inn and the opportunity to really chat together. It would brighten up the long winter days.

A little note telling me of this in a box with a token gift tio open on Christmas morning would be just wonderful.
magazine subscription, that way she'll get a little pressie every month !!

Thanks to all of your suggestions. Sorry it's taken me so long to say thank you but I've been a busy bee ! I really like the idea from Lofty Lottie and may do something along those veins - I've got her some little gifts so that would round it off a treat. Thanks again and merry christmas to all
