Nah - good excuse for a couple of days off in the middle of the week.

Why do you want a couple of days off in the middle of the week, as opposed to a four day holiday over the weekend, like at Easter?

Sorry - on reflection it wasn't clear that that was what I meant, was it.

It'd be nice to have it in Summer I guess- be quite cool to have a turkey BBQ.

;-)

Sorry, why would anyone lose bank holiday payments? I'm feeling very slow today I'm afraid.
It's just a psychological thing, really. Having legitimate extra time off when you'd normally be working is a bonus. Having xmas over a weekend just uses up a weekend when you'd be off work anyway. In fact, it would be a waste of a weekend for me.
As it seems we're getting less & less of a Christian nation let's cancel Easter & Christmas altogether:) Bah humbug etc etc.

What if the holidays were made to fall on a Friday and a Monday as at Easter? That's the kind of thing I meant. Sorry, poor phrasing of the original question.
