At approx 15:00, we'll be having trad turkey, mini sausages wrapped in streaky bacon, stuffing balls, roast spuds, sprouts, baby carrots & parsnips.
We then usually wait for an hour or so before tucking into either Christmas pudd, or my home made mince pies, with cream, brandy butter or ice cream.
None of us seem to want anything else for the rest of the day, well apart from nuts, cheese & biscs, or dig into the choc tins! Not forgetting the booze!

All the traditional stuff here for dinner, yobanfa. We're at my mum's with her partner; my dad and his girlfriend, my brother; my sister and niece; my grandma and grandad; nan and her widowed friend and my best mate! Can't wait.
I'm spending the day tomorrow making puddings: trifle, gingerbread, cake and toffee & white chocolate cheesecake. Yummy!
Merry Christmas, all! :)

I'm sorry to hear about your loss too Steve, sometimes it is easy to get carried away with the spirit of Xmas and not think about those that have lost loved ones and will find it hard to get through the day, or just find the day hard for whatever reasons.
The first Christmas after my Dad had died we lit a candle in his memory and let it burn all day, I now do this every year and not just for my Dad but for all those who have lost loved ones too.
Wrap yourself in your family and keep yourself busy on the day. xxx

we shall have a traditional xmas dinner with turkey beef roastes mash parsnips stuffing peas carrotts sprouts and all the rest but will be eating it in a tent in the garden lol. there is 13 of us for dinner this year but not got a big enough kitchen so we have set up our tent which is 8foot high and will be putting the tables in there lol
gelda - I'm sure whatever meal you end up having, it'll be just as delicious as everyone elses. Have a nice time.
Steve - so sorry to hear that this will be your first Christmas without your Mum. I can say I know how you feel, as I lost my Dad, then Mum within 20 months of each other. The first Christmas mornings were very difficult, but I lit candles & let the tears flow. We then went on to make the most of the rest of the day/s.
Take care. -xx-

Mum's on Christmas morning, then she's looking after my dog for an hour or two whilst we drive up to have lunch with my son. Back home and walk the dog, then settle down for tea and a quiet evening in, possibly a drinks visit from Mr Next Door.
At some point during the morning there will be a telephone call to son number 2, whom we won't see until after Christmas, and later I guess I'll be phoning the rellies in the US of A.

we'll have the usual turkey, etc and then deflate to the sofa for the rest of the afternoon :)
then i have to phone my other relatives in many different countries and i mean many! and then my best friend in new york and she probably wouldnt of opened her presents yet. we have a thing though where i ring her and she opens her present from me then and there.
what do people have for starters? we're abit stuck this year, my mum's got some salad things and some melon lol but i could just go and get something else, i want to be different this year :)
