i loved him in Blackadder, he is a very good comedic actor.
Would certainly be one of my dinner party guests (along with Sir David Attenborough, Boris Johnson, Mary Beard and Placido Domingo-very eclectic I know) Think his intelligence can put off some people who confuse this with smugness (IMO)
Yep, he's up there with David Attenborough for me.
yes he would be one of my dinner guests, reading his books, he is quite a clever bloke, it's not an act.
He's a pompous, smug prat
He must wish that he was as smart and articulate as Joeluke though.....☻
I bet he does gness. Evening Joe x

He is as knowledgeable as the person feeding his earphone, and I get the Impression he thinks every episode of Qi is all about him!
And outside QI, Baldric?

He still seems to think it's all about him.
I don't see that.....and wouldn't think so from what I've read about him.

I have never read about him, nor would I. He was ok in the Blackadder Series but since then seems to be believing his own publicity.
Each to their own I suppose.
I like him when he isn’t scripted, he can be so off the wall it’s scary! Though did enjoy his take on America when he travelled across it in his black taxi. He soaks information up like a sponge, and I think I have read somewhere that he has instant recall for everything he reads, but don’t quote me?! He has one of those voices I could listen to forever; if he doesn’t already, he should do some audio books.
Watch from about 3.00 minutes.

As Stephen would say [i]Each to his/her own[I] Baldric:-)
Thanks, Hoppy....don't think he had a feed in his ear there.....☺☺
One in a million, he has one of the best commands of the English language I have ever heard.
Have to agree with that, ferlew, I think Stanley Unwin came a close second though !.

Hasn't he just, Ferlew.....and when our speech is becoming so slovenly these days isn't he a pleasure to listen to...x

I have no time for the man, either as a pundit or as an actor. In the latter, he does that thing of bobbing forward every time he has to speak - which is not the sign of a great actor.
