Dont you think men in their forties and over look ridiculous in white trainers? I wouldn't be seen dead in them. What's happened to maturing with style?

For goodness sake, you can't categorise people by age. It's how you wear things and what you look like in them that counts not your age group.

People should be able to wear what they like as long as it's not offensive to anybody.

I don't like white trainers on anybody, young or old except for sports purposes to be honest. But if people are happy wearing them then so-be-it.

Maturing with style - rubbish!! Who wants to be a boring old fart!!
milly your dad would hate me! never out of my shorts in the summer!
And Mr LL still wears jeans in his mid 60's and looks bloomin' good in them too!! He could put a lot of younger men to shame!!
Our local chiropodist says that trainers are great for OAPs to wear as they have a lot more support around the ankles and much more cushioning in the soles than ordinary shoes.

I don't care who wears what, as long as they're neat and tidy, and clean! I mean obviously if somebody's doing a dirty job that's different, but saying that, men wearing socks with sandals - especially with Bermuda or other shorts does look ridiculous!
i'm ashamed to say that i sometimes wear jeans and sometimes wear white trainers and i'm nearly bloomin 40.

i think david, if it offends you so much, then you should stay indoore.

Nothing wrong with old men wearing white trainers, it's ponytails and earrings that are offensive to me. Oh and white leather slip-ons!! yes and socks with sandals, yuk I could go on all day!
My oh is 43 and he still wears jeans, he wears trainers too, but only ever black ones. He hates shorts and detests ¾ length trousers.
I think once you`re over 75 like myself, you`re entitled to wear what you like, as long as it`s clean & respectable. I wear socks & sandals to protect my feet a little, as one has to with Diabetes, but I now wear elasticated jogging bottoms for comfort.
Jeans are ageless in my opinion. Anyone can wear them. Age shouldn't be a factor to what you wear in any way. More important is shape, posture and the confidence to wear what you want and carry off what you wear well.

Some young people look dreadful in what they wear and some young people, in fact many young people, are far more out of shape than a lot of us oldies. You only have to walk down the high street on a sunny day to see that this is true.
ha ha wishful thinking DT Croswwordfan
I agree Lofty esp the ones with their backside hanging out of jeans that are three sizes too big whats that all about I actually saw a lad walk down the high street the other day and they actually fell down!!!

Here's another one for you. Why do middle aged women insist on wearing cropped trousers in summer? Another no no in my book.
Perhaps people don't like what you wear David?
such a fashionista david, I prefer to live and let live, its a sign of maturity :)
Hang on ...

In what parallel universe does "forties" count as "maturing".

I thought 40 was the new 20 !!!
