My mum says they used to put wet newspaper in them back in the day, not soaking wet just a bit damp.

I have some stuff from Avon which you put onto your heels (or wherever it hurts looks like lip gloss) that forms a barrier between your heel and the shoe. that works for me if its rubbing.

Once bought some New Rock Boots which hurt and my mum wore them for a week to help bed them in!!!
Try wearing two pairs of thick socks to try and stretch them. You could also try vaseline on the leather.
My Mum always used to rub a candle on the inside of the back of the shoe if they were rubbing the heels. I seem to remember it somehow used to work!!!
oh thank you! these are new rocks!! ..ali is your mum available for breaking these in for me??hehe

ive managed to walk in them a few times after bandaging my ankle with 2 bandages ,gauze and tape, but they still seem to rub horrendously,i shall try the candlewax and vaseline next, sounds rather pleasant!!!
