I'm looking for a dress to wear for my graduation ceremony, it needs buttons on the front (although preferably only as decoration) and would like back or dark blue. Have looked for a tea dress or similar with short sleeves on every site I can think of but no luck; if anyone can find or suggest something I'd be very grateful!

To be fair I've not looked in any shops yet, would love an actual vintage dress and have got two recently opened vintage shops in town, may scout them before commiting to the ebay one as they have a few available still.
Hi Sophie,

I've had two graduations. The first time, i read the bit where they suggest you wear a button down collared shirt and thought a dress would suit me much better. On the day I had no where to attach the sash to and the way the robe fell sort of made my upper half look like I might not be wearing clothes underneath it!!!! The second time I wore a button down collared shirt as they suggested and the outfit worked and looked much better. So please consider wearing a shirt like they suggest!

That's why I'm looking for a dress with buttons bushbaby! I can't wear shirts as they gape on me or are far too big around the waist!
Taking a guess here based on what you said about shirts gaping - but if you are a fellow big-booby lady then check out Bravissimo's new clothing line called Pepperberry. I was seriously impressed :)
Realise that I am 40 years out of date but I must ask: What is a tea dress?
Checking back on my graduation photos I looked like an absconder from St. Trinians.
Extremely short navy skirt, white shirt and University of Wales tie. Stillettos. Add Cap and Gown, collapse laughing.
