I'm looking for a dress to wear for my graduation ceremony, it needs buttons on the front (although preferably only as decoration) and would like back or dark blue. Have looked for a tea dress or similar with short sleeves on every site I can think of but no luck; if anyone can find or suggest something I'd be very grateful!

strange thing to suggest but have you tried the companies that sell corporate clothing most of the top of the range 'uniform' suppliers do at leas one work dress it would be fairly simple to stitch a lace collar and buttons on and the effect would be simple and ladylike.... if you chose cream lace for the collar and a cream and black two tone button (cream and navy ) if the dress was navy it wouldn't look like you were auditioning for the role of housekeeper in a period drama either

That's an idea; what companies sell corporate clothing?
Try ebay Sophie - they have loads of tea dresses
So the dress is made from the leaves or something? Like to see you in one K ; ) x
google 'corporate clothing business dresses' you should get quite a few... Don't bother with Alexander workwear it's all polyester... I had some lovely suits from one of them a few years back but I cant recall the name offhand..
Yes .. that one would be nice if you were a hippy chick about 80yrs old.
Be nice if we could all Google our shopping and clothes, yes?

That's quite nice Buen, not keen on the pocket though.
Tried eBay but couldn't find anything, it's the buttons that are causing problems; will probably end up sewing some on anyway though!

Arrrghhh! Also just checked the price tag on that one Buen; if I could afford that would make my own dress out of twenty pound notes!

C'mon Soph .. You have some good shops around you : )
There used to be a 2nd hand ladies shop above one of the antique dealers in Regent St. LS. My ex used to use it .. and an old neighbour run it.
