Costco coz it's cheap.

Waitrose coz it's handy.
I go to Tosco, but only because it's at the top of the road, otherwise I'd go to Sainsburys. It seems that everytime I go in to do my shopping lately there are never enough tills open, so the queues are long, this has an impact on how much I spend because I never browse now, just in and out as quick as possible. A couple of weeks ago I actually queued for longer than I shopped, that is not good business sense in any world, they need more staff (well, in our branch anyway)
I used to go to Tesco regularly for my big shop, but when my last son left home and it was me and hubby, I just go to Asda and pick up as and when needed.
Sainsburys because it's close. Asda on occasion for a bigger variety. I've never liked Tesco. Probably just beacuse the ones round here are quite old and dingy.
I've stopped going to Tescos despite it being more convenient. I have found that the quality of their fresh stuff is appalling, the customer service is dire, bordering on rude and I always end up queuing for ages. Much prefer the quality and service in Sainburys or Waitrose.
Asda as it is a 5 minute walk, do an online shop about every 6 weeks from Ocado when they send offers out.
waitrose cause it's closest, m&s cause i love their prawns and mountain bars and sainsburys cause i have them set up on internet shopping
Tesco 'cos it's nearest but would like to try other supermarkets to see if they are any better.
Is it true you get some sort of print out from Sainsburys to tell you how much you would have paid elsewhere?
I'm thinking of doing online with Ocado/Waitrose, anyone had any bad experiences.
I shop at the weekly market for fruit, veg and eggs and then call into Sainsbury's for a few other bits. (Vegetarians so no meat needed). If I don't need much other than the market purchases then i go to the local Budgens or Co-op.

Asda is almost opposite Sainsbury's and I do call in there for a change once in a blue moon. Tescos would be my least favourite option - there's not much choice there and too much floor space taken up with cheap household goods for my liking. Never been to Waitrose.
I'm in the happy position of having a high street. So I go to the baker's for bread, the fishmonger's for fish, the greengrocer's for fruit and veg and the butcher's for my meat. The bread's slightly more expensive but better quality and it seems to me that the fish and meat is not actually any cheaper at a supermarket. I do use the small local Sainsbury's we have for cleaning stuff and whatever, but otherwise it's all from the local shops. Lucky me.
Yes, that's nice, SeaJay.
Rocky - only good reports from me regarding Ocado.
I've never used Ocado, Rocky, but I do go into Waitrose quite a bit nowadays (now I have found a crafty place to park nearby that saves me going into the multi story). I have always been pleased with the choice, the quality and the customer focus.
Think I'll give it a go, I've never done online food shopping before.
A combination of Aldi and Local shops and markets.
When I moved into my previous house 17 years ago there was a smashing parade of shops close by; small Co-op, 2 x greengrocers, 2 x bakers, a butchers and assorted other small shops. Then a Safeway opened at the bottom of the hill and most of these businesses closed down.......some became either Estate Agents or Foreign Timeshare Agents and others were just shuttered/boarded up. When I pop back these many of these retail premises are still empty or contain charity shops...even the Estate Agents moved on in time.

If you don't support your local traders and the shops close down, there is rarely any chance that they will re-open as a similar business.

But every now and then we do like to have a splurge here:

Sainsbury's very new, good ranges, clean and covered parking

Tesco's - smaller, dingy, dirty, awful public loos, awful café, awful fruit and veg in comparison. Not surprised with their numbers based on down here - now only half their tills are open (my mother likes to go there as she knows her way around - hen she remembers).

Waitrose coming - yeah.....
We don't live near a supermarket but we have a good butcher and magic fishmonger a mile or so away and I hand bake bread in batches. Morrisons is good and the staff great so we go there once a week. The only thing to be said for Tesco is that i offers free parking for town.
Waitrose because it's the closest one to me, I also use M & S because I like their fruit and veg. I use my local butcher for meat and fishmonger for fish.
