I've got some items I want to sell including a guitar and stand.

The only problem is I have no idea whatsoever how much to sell it for. It's probably about ten years old and it's just a bog standard acoustic guitar. In good nick, just needs tuning. From memory it's a Yamaha though I might be wrong.

Has anyone got a rough idea of what would be a reasonable price to try and sell the guitar and stand for? I'm not expecting it will be worth much, just haven't got the foggiest.

If you can't give the make and model, it's impossible to indicate a price.

Hhhmm, ok. Will dig it out of the garage later and find out. Thanks
Bog standard? if you mean a mass produced cheapy made from laminate then not more than £40. I recently bought a Spanish luthier made acoustic with a solid cedar top (small bash in upper bout) for £21 on ebay. The more detail you can give the more you will get for it. The following info. will help
Make/model/serial No.
Style: Folk,jumbo, dreadnought,parlour,cutaway, classical, acousti/electric,
Top, solid or laminate?
Body, solid or laminate
Strings, steel ,nylon (need replacing?)
String height at 12th fret
String height at nut
Fretboard width of at nut, straightness, amount of dip or bow
Tuner type; spanish, open or sealed.
General condition of finish such as scratches and blemishes
Study similar ones on ebay, there are thousands to look through.
If you are selling on Ebay do not specify pickup only as it narrows your market so much that you won't get more then half of it's potential value.
A no brand guitar like yours in good condition and with a stand (pickup only) sold for £5... yes £5 last week. The buyer will pay postage, (within the UK no more than £20)
Yes, as jomifl says look on ebay and go to 'compleated listings; in advanced search . You will see what others sold for , you need to find ones as close as possible to yours. Guitars can sell for anything from £5 to £1,000 and more all depends on the exact model.
Another good tip for ebay is to use a company called ColletPlus to deliver items , you can drop the item off at a drop off point near you, (mainly small shops) they will deliver an item such as a Guitar to the door for £5.99 or £7.99 if it is over 5Kg . A lot cheaper than the post office and it is tracked and insured. As you have been told very few people will come and pick up an item so you need to offer delivery to get a good price.
