Paypal Query for Beginner

Hi, After years of sending cheques to sellers on ebay I have eventually managed to sign up for a paypal account but I'm still confused how it works!

Do you just make sure you have enough money in your bank account and when you buy something on ebay you just click paypal where it says how you want to pay and then is the money for the item imediately taken from you bank account and put straight away in the sellers account?

yes you just ensure that there is enough money in your bank for the item that you are buying and just click the pay via paypal option - i have found ebay so much better since i started using paypal and also there are more and more companies beggining to accept it so you will never look back now - happy online shopping

You give them your bank card number, they merely act as an interface to ensure the seller doesn't know your details. They pay the seller and take the money from you. Not necessarily in that order.

I use paypal for more than e-bay now, as it saves having to type in all the card details over and over again. If you return something they credit paypal and paypal refund your card

paypal is addictive, you dont have to get up and grab your wallet or chequebook....

You are not just restricted to paying from your bank account funds, you can put in a credit card, and they will take from your bank first and if insufficient funds from the credit card. However you have the option at any transaction to nominate the bank account or the credit card, which makes it more flexible and you are not restricted to whatever is in the account at any time.

The cash does not transfer instantly from your bank account.
I bought and payed for a camera on Tuesday by paypal the cash was taken fom my bank this morning.
You can transfer money from your bank account into your paypal account, then the cash goes instantly from your paypal into the other account
