Have Amazon recently become a lot slower at delivering stuff?
I placed an order a week ago and the original e-mail from them said delivery would be up to 3 weeks. They have since e-mailed to say it will be 2 weeks from the date of order.
This still seems a long time, all the items are direct from Amazon ie not from Amazon sellers.
I'm sure they used to deliver within days, surely it can't be down to the Christmas rush yet?
Used to be real fast delivery when it was charged for. Now you can have it tomorrow if you pay or in a little while if you want free delivery. Horses for courses. But for advance orders prior to the release of the title nothing will make it come any earlier.
I use their Prime service. You pay an annual fee and get all your amazon delivered orders delivered within 24 hours (sundays might be excepted) Its brilliant. I reckon to cover my costs with gift purchasing and save hand over fist by buying the boring stuff there.
We have had 6 parcels delivered from Amazon in the last week, all were delivered in 3 days of ordering(free deliver). Slinkycat, I also ordered two Paul O'Grady books from Amazon on afternoon of the 30th Oct which were delivered this morning.
Just checked back through order, all items in stock apart from one, which has a 10 day delivery, hadn't noticed that before, that explains the delay!
Although I think they've split deliveries in the past, oh well, thanks for all the replies.
I know Amazon are desperate for temporary Christmas packing staff.
They can't recruit enough , anyone want a temp job ? the distribution centre is in Milton Keynes.
They have sent emails to my employers asking for anyone that wants extra work to contact them, they need people 7 days a week 24 hours a day.
