Just saw your post there mallyh. You're right, car boots are a great source for cheap plants, I'd forgotten! Manchester has a massive car boot site ( Smithfield Market) on a Sunday! Pity I couldn't go yesterday I was busy. Thanks for the suggestion, much cheaper to buy from there!
Just do a bit of advertising here for my employer, Morrisons.
Summer wicker hanging baskets £10
Viola hanging baskets £5
Tray of six geraniums/petunias, summer favourites £2 each or 2 for £3
Plant of the week - Fuchsias £1.33
Everybody has been commenting on their quality and cheapness.
Hi Captain I must fully endorse your advert,I have been buying bedding plants etc in Morrisons for several years now and have had no failures so far excellent value.
I have found Morrisons very good for trailing lobelia, trailing geraniums and many others. I bought some of mine at 2 trays for £3 and others at £2/3 per tray. Great selection if you're near a Morrisons
Elina - don't know which side of Manchester you are but Stockport market on Fridays and Saturdays is very good for plants (it's also on on a Tuesday but don't know if the plantmen stand then).
Tony - sorry got distracted. Yes I put them out, water them, sort them, arrange them, re-sort them after Joe Public's been at them - heartily sick of them!
Elina - I'm originally from Radcliffe - are you that way about?
