Anyone got any ideas or recommendations for a sewing machine for a seven year old? I've found some online but don't know which would be best, don't really want a branded one (like Barbie) as you're paying over the top for the name. Thank you.

How much do you want to pay?
Hit submit too quick. I'd go for a very basic proper one, depending if you think it's jst a fad or not. Home sewing skills are a fantastic thing to have and to nurture that from a young age would be great.

Depends on how rubbish it is - it's for a seventh birthday present so it needs to be v simple (plus I can't use a sewing machine). I've seen some for about £30 but don't know how rubbish they are. I don't mind spending more but don't know what I'm looking for.
Amazon have a few around the £40-45 mark, have a read of the reviews.
Are you a car boot sale person? They are bound to have stuff like that.

Ok, thanks for that - I had only considered ones specifically aimed made for children.
Aldi or Lidl had one recently - might still be some in the stores
This one seems decent enough for the price, and would probably appeal to a 7 year old girl.
Amazon.co.uk User Recommendation
At 7 she should be able to use a full size one. A childs machine will soon be out grown if she turns out to be good at using it.
Charity shops often have them for £20 or so in good working order that would be where I started to look.
