Our local Iceland has gone over to "clear cut prices" or something similar. Everything is now priced in multiples of s and 50p.

It seems to be very popular, there's an air of "sale fever" in the store when I'm shopping in there and I think they've come up with a brilliant idea.

However, I think it's brilliant for them and not for the customer (OH, what a surprise!!!!!!!!!!!!!).

They've rounded up quite a lot of prices, some by only 1p but others by 20p or more. Of course they've also rounded some down but a lot of the stuff they've rounded down also seems (mysteriously...) to be items that used to be bogof.

Call me cynical and as I was around to see decimalisation come into force (albeit, very young at the time!) I probably am... but I think Iceland have pulled a very clever fast one!

Another useful thing would be the introduction of a 99p coin.
