Boots Advantage Card

On of my uncles bought himself a new electric shaver from Boots, last week. The assistant asked him if he had an Advantage Card and he replied, saying he didn't have one.

She then asked him if he knew someone who did because there were a lot of points to be gained from the sale.

Consequently, he has sent the receipt to me saying that I can take it into my local Boots and get the points added to my card.

Is this correct?

Yes.
Yes, I think it is.
Has the receipt been validated, Tilly?

What do you mean, Jo?
Does it say that you could have earned, or something like to add these points...I can't remember the wording, sorry.
Question Author
Yes, it does. It says 'Please retain this receipt so that your points can be added when you next visit any UK store with your Advantage Card within the next 30days.'

It then has a Validation code.
Yay! :0)
I remember going into Boots a while ago and purchasing something when I didn't have my Boots Advantage card with me.
The cashier told me to keep the receipt, as I could add the points to my card the next time I called in.
I'd only bought something of small value (approx £5 if I remember correctly), so I knew it wouldn't be worth much in terms of points, so I never bothered :(

It feels fraudulent. I didn't spend that money.
so your uncle's given you the money; a belated Xmas present.

I'll give it a go tomorrow. I hope that a store detective doesn't nab me for claiming points for another transaction. :-(
I've forgotten my AC a couple of times and had the points added to it later on.

The problem I have is with the vouchers that get sent. I'm always forgetting them at home and can't seem to get them added at a later date.

Oh, I do that Tigger. Infuriating isn't it?
Yes. You can have points added later, but I don't know if it has to be the same Boots as where the purchase was made. Probably not, so I would certainly give it a try. Lots of other cards let you put points on from things bought in other branches, so I'm sure it will be all right.

Fingers crossed, Margaret. :-)

I can confirm that you can take someone else's receipt ito Boots and get the points put on to your card.

I must keep my eyes peeled and look for discarded receipts outside the Boots' entrance. :-)
Lol was it a lot of points
^^ only if they've been validated, Tilly ;0)
Question Author
656 points, RR.

Yes indeed, Jo. ;-)
People are going to start avoiding the strange woman picking up and examining litter outside Boots.... ;-)
