i went online to book my roughly weekly shop and put in
shampoo and nearly 200 variants came up.

A while back I read about a Russian official visiting the UK for the first time. He went to a supermarket and stood in the aisle crying because the was overwhelmed at the choices available and the sheer amount of dog food at a time when Russian supermarkets were empty.
There is too much choice, unless you shop at Aldi where there is too little choice.
I've just tried Tesco.com and put 'cat food' in the search box. There are 570 different cat foods.

Shopping can give you a headache.
It's annoying when a store stops selling your preferred choice or the manufacturer discontinues it but usually a search works for me on Tesco.
I've only shopped online twice and both times drove me nuts - Waitrose delivered my Xmas order without the turkey and Sainsburys made substitutions that only an idiot could imagine.

You want to go to Cuba where there’s little or no choice, little or no stock, it makes you grateful for our supermarkets.
