How Do You Return Items If They Are Large

I may return the Amazon table i bought, i still have the boxes it came in, but its too heavy to take to a depot, do they collect, and if so, do they charge?

Whoosh! That’s a hard hit to take, ring Amazon again and tell them the item is not what it seemed and whether they’ll pay or not ,say you can’t afford to send it back to the USA , you just might get a sympathetic ear listening to you

got some guy in India, who gave me instructions on return. The fact remains that i have to get it back to them before August 23rd.
can't possibly sell it on, its worthless, even though it costs a 100 smackers.

if i send it via a courier company, i have to know how much it weighs to get a quote for the cost of return. not possible then.

Take a small hit on it and advertise it on Gumtree , I couldn’t be bothered with the hassle of sending it back ,but if you do, the weight should be on the outer box it came in

success, i am getting my 101 quid back, not the 30 quid i paid for assembly but the amount of the article and i don't have to send it back. Cheers Bobbi, and all, some perseverance has paid off.

yes it is, that's the second time in recent days. I am a good customer of theirs and the clock that i ordered didn't show up, so got my money returned no quibble.

i will likely go to Wayfair for my next buy, they have a smashing, right size console table for sale, though its not available till sept. its what i was after all along.

quite often of late, i have bought items purportedly from a UK based company, with an English name, brand, and then found that its a front for something made in China. Not happy about that but by then it was too late.

Do you never look in shops for furniture, emmie? I would be very reluctant to buy anything like that without seeing it.

not many shops sell what i am after, i did look in John Lewis for a clock, but most of what they sell is online. Perhaps persistence paid off this time. I have bought loads of stuff of late, some hits and some misses. The console table is just rubbish i confess, i could have put it together in no time at all, had i known that the table was going to be so small. Its hip height....

If you cannot return it you could sell it over here, at least you would get something for it. Or you could cut your losses and get a warm feeling by giving it to charity, they would collect it.

Well done emmie - persistence is a drag which is what a lot of Companies rely on, but it often pays off as here.

william, i doubt very much that the charity guys i have donated to recently would take it, its too small for most hallways, and too tatty to honestly give away, i would be embarrassed to sell it to be honest.
its my fault for not checking where it came from.... i will be more careful in future.

its got to be half moon shape to fit in the hallway or living room.
Furniture stores are very expensive too, even online some of these tables are coming out at 1,000 pounds which is not what i could afford nor would buy. I did look at John Lewis online but they don't have what i am after. If the table i found on Wayfair is available in sept then i will buy that.
