This is one of the problems with rolling news.
It's no surprise that newsworthy events are not happening once an hour, but that space still has to be filled.
That means that in the absence of anything actually happening, they fill the time guessing what might happen.
Speculation is simple, free, and endless, no wonder it's what we get instead of actual news.
But guessing is not news, and should not be offered as though they are the same things.
Facts versus imagination...
