No but we meant to be going out and I've just said normally he does by now if he don't message back by later then I'll message and say where are we meeting to see if he responded

Abbey, you're saying 'normally he does by now', but you were in a bit of a flap on Wednesday because he didn't text you all day (you were relieved when you got a message in the evening). I think you're maybe getting a little over-anxious - and it's coming across as a pretty needy!

Have you thought he may not have messaged because he found out you went online and asked a bunch of strangers if you should also go out with another man? Or maybe he is doing the same about another woman? Would that not be just as OK as what you're doing?

Well he don't know I'm concerned as I haven't messaged him and checking he still wants to later is not needy if I don't keep on

No last thing he said he was drifting of last night and how would he know I was messaging another man if so I haven't ignored him because of it

Yes last night but didn't say goodbye night like he normally would.

I could very be overreacting obviously if he changed his mind or he had better offer and preferred to do that like to think he'd have decentcy to say

Even i know that there is a possibility after 1 date that you will never hear from them again (despite all their promises or words) and I haven't been on a date for 34 years!

Abbey, leave it to him to contact you.  If he does, all well and good.  If he doesn't, put it down to experience.  It's only been one date so take it slowly.
