Hi unruliejulie,
This is a great website for card making and other crafty ideas:

http://www.docrafts.co.uk/

...you should also be able to find a list of local and online stockists on it and plenty of suggestions for places to bargain hunt in the forum! I get a lot of items (card blanks, papers, stamps and inks) from ebay - it's always worth having a trawl through the craft listings for a bargain!

Thank you also nickmo. I am new to card amking but i love it! Just struggle for ideas. many thanks
Hi Julie, I make cards and sell them, I find that the cheapest way of buying cardstock is to buy big sheets and cut them down rather than buying ready cut and folded and creased cards. I tend to use www.craftcreations.co.uk, but there are otheres out there. I started off on a small scale to see if my cards would sell, but now that they have taken off, I tend to buy bigger quantities of everything. There is an awful lot of cardmaking stuff out there and you could easily be tempted by something you might not use, I tend to do a lot of stamping on my cards or use die cuts - be warned you will get completely hooked, my craft stuff is taking over the house now. If you want any more info just yell :)

jules (great name btw!) i have been doing it for a couple of months now, nothing fancy but they turn out well. I have been very pleased with them all up to now. I get great satisfation from this hobby because i am the least crafty person you could ever hope not to meet! I can sit for hours making them and yes, it is addictive, I havent used stamps and there are a few techniques i would like to learn. All in good time i guess. Thank you again, and i will yell if i need to know anything. XX
Dawn Bibby's site is good - www.topazcrafts.co.uk.
If you have freeview or sky you can see her on a Tues 2-4pm on QVC and get some good ideas and tips!

There are some programmes on Saturday this week too! Check out the QVC website!
Hi urj - hope the info does some good - and if you have a Costco near you, I recall they have a set of craft scissors for embellishing card etc with fancy edges on offer at the moment - something like a set of 12 design / cuts in the pack. Might be of use too.

Good luck with it and enjoy it too....
you can also try buying craft stuff on ebay - much cheaper than most high street shops and some online shops too.
oops posted this before I'd finished! the Paper Mill Shop (check here for outlets: http://www.thepapermillshop.co.uk/)

they sell paper in bulk really cheaply (a box of A5 of 500 sheets of any colours you like for 3.75).

I started this as a hobby - just making cards for family and friends, and now make wedding invitations as a sideline to my normal job! good little money earner.
