Hi there i am turning 21 this year and my parents want to buy me a good watch for it, looking to spend around 500 punds ish but i have no idea about watches at all, can any one recommend any type or any style sthey think would be nice..ahhhhhi am lost!thanks shoppersxx

However, Tag Heuer, Omega, Breitling, Raymond Wiel are the top watch makers and you may find one for about �500 although this would probably be one of their bottom of the range watches, but still top notch!!

If you are female and looking for a more designer watch then go for Dior, Gucci, or Armani, although these are more likely to date.

Tiffany also do nice watches, although I am not sure what sort of prices they run to.

Good jewellers to visit are Beaverbrooks, Ernest Jones and Goldsmiths

Sorry, forgot to put - style wise you can't beat a nice stainless steel chunkyish bracelet and simple face, if you are male then chronographs are nice too.

a nice simple gold watch from Rotary would be a lifelong keepsake. Classic.

I was given a Tag Heuer by my parents for my 21st and its still going strong 15 years later. It's a chronograph model with a stainless steel bracelet and looks as good as new despite constant use.

I would not hesitate to get another if the worst happened and I lost it.

I would recommend a Tag Heuer watch. They are truely beautiful but you may have to spend a bit more than �500.

How about a Gucci? i think they do some for under �500 or �500 dead on.
Fossil have a nice new selection in as well. I think that the braclet effect ones are the nicest. Get one that is noticeable without being tooo flashey though.

Longines are good too, i had one for my 21st and still wear it every day at nearly 40

I love Jacob&Co watches.
Very over the top but i think they are great if you like that kind of thing.
Failing that, I find Gucci watches absolutely beautiful.
