I know there's a similar thread going on, but I'm thinking about home shopping for the first time. can anyone recommend the best for quality, accuracy, charges, delivery times and whatever else I haven't even considered?
I work full time and can't face the weekly shop.
thanks :o)

I would suggest you register with all of them (not necessarily at the same time) and give them all a trial. I have come down to Sainsburys for the most efficient and best for me. Tesco has the best website, Asda are the cheapest and Waitrose are the dearest. Tesco give you a two hour delivery slot and I think it is them that offer you 10 if they are late - but the drivers often argue that they were there on time but had to do some paperwork - so it doesn't always work. Sainsburys give you a one hour slot, as does Asda. The costs are pretty standard, about 6 for weekend and between 3 and 4 for midweek. Some give you free delivery if you spend over 100 but I haven't so far been able to achieve that. :)
Some interesting facts.
1. You can usually choose between bags or no bags.
2. Some of the supermarkets will offer to carry your shopping into the kitchen, or not if you so choose.
3. The driver will take your used carrier bags no matter which supermarket they originated from.
4. Sainsburys offer an evoucher against your next shop in place of a refund, you have the choice of accepting it or not.
5. You can amend your order up to the day before delivery, the website will tell you the rules about amendments.

This will give you all the details of Tesco's delivery charges. Don't take any notice of the availability here, that is for my local store.

Hi sara. I can highly recommend Sainsbury's home delivery. I've been using them for a couple of years and i'm delighted. I only tried Asda once, and they were diabolical.
Sains used to offer free mid-week delivery on orders over 70, but now it's 100. But as a smoker, i order cigs to take the total to 100 most weeks. Well- it's money i would spend anyway ;) xx

Just for comparison purposes, here's Sainsbos delivery schedule.

I order from Tesco too & I'm happy with the service.
It'll take what seems like quite a while to do the odering the first couple of time until you get used to it. There's a 'my favourites' section which will keep a record of all the items you buy, you can click onto that next time you order & it'll be easier for you to select items for shopping from there and do the rest of your shopping too.
