Why do websites not tell you items are out of stock.
This is constantly happening to me.
I placed all my daughters Christmas orders last week and a few birthday presents for december. I've used different companies and i've just checked my emails and theres a few saying that certain items are out of stock but the rest of my order will be sent. So its not just the one company that does this
Is it just me or does this happen to anyone else?
Theres nothing on the site when i've added the item to my basket saying its out of stock and nothing said when i pay and checkout. grrrr
One place i'd ordered a birthday present and thats out of stock but i'd ordered xmas wrapping paper just for the sake of it since i was placing an order. I'm not getting the main item so for my 3 cheap rolls of paper its costing £17 by the time delivery is added on. eek.
Well, can't answer why, but to be honest, it's never happened to me. The sites I use tell me upfront whether something is out of stock, and if they are, I don't place the order. Ordered a fair amount of stuff in my time and I've never had goods not sent as ordered.
I agree carron81, there are a few that will tell you, Argos is quite good and Maplins who sell electronics also tell you stock situation. Most of the others are woefully inadequate in giving this information.
its such a pest. it happened to me a while ago with la redoute and thought it was a one off but thats 2 websites that i've ordered from in the past week thats done it
thought i had christmas shopping sorted and i could sit back and wait for the parcels to arrive :(
