i would contact their customer services line or contact the manufacturer direct.
They will probably offer a good will gesture for the loss of food, or the extra expense it is costing you to buy more.
You don't have to contact the manufacturer, your contract is with the shop that sold it to you, it is their job to sort out the problem. I wouldn't have thought that they can refuse to get someone out to repair it, a fridge freezer is too large to be easily transportable. Threaten to report them to the local Trading Standards department as they would appear to be in breach of their obligations.
This assumes that you are in the UK and by recent you mean within the last year (although for a major appliance their responsibility can extend up to six years) and you haven't caused the fault by mistreating the fridge.
