So far we know ABer's ages, gender, locations, shoe sizes and various personal preferences. I thought it would be interesting to find out what my fellow ABer's jobs/careers are, so, what do you do ?

If you are retired, what did you do ?

If you are a school leaver/student, what is your chosen career path ?

PS. I am not a government spy (despite my name), nor will this information be used on future ID cards !

Before my children was born I was a tax adviser, these days I am a support worker for Asylum Seekers, a part-time book-keeper/payroll administrator, and domestic goddess.

Go on now bernardo... whose leg are you trying to pull?  A part-time goat warbler... everyone knows there are only full time ones!  I think I've lost faith in your veracity...

I am a psychotherapist, hypnotherapist and reiki healer. In my spare time I also do psychic research and write articles on all these subjects.

bernardo - has GOT to have a 3* rating for his answer!!

And David H - you gotta come see me sometime!!

Me ? I work for MI6, my duties include being deployed to some of the most beautiful, exotic locations in the world where I investigate and eventually assasinate (mostly psychotic) megalomaniacs who insist on holding the world to ransom. I have a company prestige car (with modifications) and an array of gadgets to assist me on the way. Perks of the job are that I meet a variety of beautiful women who can't seem to resist my charm and have an overwhelming desire to make love to me. *Hears wifes voice, vaguely calling, getting louder....* ''Wake up, Wake up, Wake up you dipstick, your gonna be late for work'....Who me ? Oh, I'm a crane driver.

I am rich but not idle. I am fortunate enough to be able to live and travel comfortably on inherited wealth, but I often dabble in investments and business schemes.

professional goods chauffer (truck driver)

I have a degree in hotel management, a mickey mouse kind of course I graduated in 15 years ago.  Led me into contract catering but after kids came along I began work in special needs as a teaching assistant.  There are 6 kids to 6 adults in the class.  The kids have severe autism and adhd and they can be extremely violent and uncooperative.  However, life there is never dull and half term is only 5 weeks away........

almost finished my masters, going to be a medical statistician hopefully working for a research body on HIV or cancer drug trials.  Not going to sell my soul to the pharmaceutical industry (until I get older need the money and shed my moral ideals...)

I'm usually an out of work actress, but am actually filming a self-help video next week 'Easy Way to Give Up Smoking' playing Smoker No 1. Well you gotta start somewhere.
I'm a Chartered Quantity Surveyor and Chartered Builder, and am currently studying part time for my MBA.
I have been a supermarket cashier, an admin assistant,a legal secretary, full time mum, teaching assistant (special needs) and now I stay at home and make and design greetings cards (my hobby turned into a small time business)
Before retiring, I was a Product Specialist in the Cardiovascular Equipment Division of a

... medical products manufacturer.

(sorry, all thumbs this morning!)

Food Technologist.

On leaving school I served my apprenticeship as a bricklayer during which I was awarded the "Silver Trowel" (very proud moment for me that!)

After ten years on the tools I joined the fire brigade where I have now worked for 17 years.

hmm... everyone seems to be a bit medical on here!

i'm an overworked webmaster working for a well known online brand.

i'm in 6th form at the moment, studying maths, french, physics & Fmaths AS (last year i did chem & philosophy as well, and i really miss phil!)

in october i'm going to uni to do a degree in maths (yeah yeah i know, boring & sad but it's the only thing i'm any good at!) hope to keep up my french, as well, and hopefully get some of my writing published outside of the internet!

after that, i haven't got a clue what to do. my aim is to do something i don't hate in order to earn enough money to enjoy myself. career suggestions are welcome.
