Wales

South-west Wales in fact, a little bit North of Swansea. Probably more information than you need, but it's number 5 on this map:

http://www.walesdirectory.co.uk/counties.htm

It is a county - something of an endangered species.

I forgot, I think the Welsh like to drop the word 'shire' when speaking about their counties.  I think 'shire' is considered too English. So 'Carmarthen' would be in order, as would Glamorgan and so on.

What I'm never clear about are the newer regions - I wouldn't be able to tell you the make-up if Gwent, forexample.

From the South - M4 all the way to the end, plus a few miles!
