nose picking

WHY is it that when your driving along you see loads of people picking their nose? Do they think they become invisible the minute their finger starts mining for nose gold?!

Whenever I'm stuck in a jam, it's usually the dirty old man sitting in the car behind who picks his nose like there's no tomorrow.  I stupidly think that if they see me looking at them in the mirror that they'll stop, but they don't.  It never seems to happen when the driver behind me is a younger man or a lady.  Now come on all you boring PC police, tell me I'm wrong and shouldn't single out old men.

A game that children love whilst on a long car journey is to see who can get the most points, thus:

2 points if you see someone picking their nose. 3 points if they smear the contents somewhere. 5 points if they eat the contents and a massive 10 points if they pick their nose and offer the contents to someone else to eat!!

At least they are keeping their nasal fluids  to themselves.  In recent years spitting all over the place by young - or not so young men - is commonplace.  They haven't the grace to even aim for the gutter or the weed-infested other side of the pavement.  It must land slap bang in the middle of the pavement for others to walk in. I have a rule at home now - shoes must be taken off in the hall.
