In the days of Supplementary Benefit (the forerunner of Income Support) there were various additions payable with the basic entitlement.  Folk wi gardens could claim extra benefit to pay for garden tools and there are stories of folk living in flats getting the extra. There is no extra benefit payable to dog owners.
I believe however that homeless guys get money for their dog if they have one, dont they?
No orange gnome -it is a myth. Stop reading the Daily Mail!

Nice one inferno !

Many homeless people can't get any benefits at all - let alone extra payments for a dog.

Yeah I've heard that homeless people get loads of cash from the government and they like sleeping on the street becuase it's 'character building'.

Oh, and you know when you give them 20p every two weeks well, you shouldn't cos they earn at least one hundred pounds a day like this.

Well, that's what I've heard anyway... ; )
