The friendliest place I've been was a small town in Italy. No one could speak any English but everyone in the village had to show me I was welcome, so they shook my hand or kissed me. I felt so welcome.

Alice Springs - Australia. An unusual place full of abos wandering around looking totally bewildered and disenfranchised. Everyone I spoke to was very friendly.
