Hi Maggie,  I do not know if it is usual,  however my sister had a little girl dresed in the same colours as the bridesmaids carrying a cushion with the two rings on it up the  aisle behind the bride.    Then when asked who has the rings the little one gave them to be blessed. Quite lovely.

I like that something different. My daughters just got engaged so its all wedding talk. Lovely
we had a barn dance!
Hi maggie,  me again !  I wanted something to make 'my day' special and my sister married earlier in the same year as me. She had a horse and carraige to transport her to and from the service, we  opted for the truck my husband (to be) drove for his living . It looked wonderful festooned with flowers and ribbons !! And what an imposing sight we made ! There have not been many great trucks at weddings. We had to check the height limit ,to make sure it could reach the church without demolishing powerlines etc.  !! Another idea?

I think its great to have something different to everyone else. It makes the day a talking point. Her friend had a chimney sweep for the photos and this is what gave us the idea that it would be nice to find something different. We are thinking of releasing some white doves at the church as doves are supposed to mate for life I believe. It will be done properly (they are white pidgeon actually as doves would not find their way home) but its different.
Releasing the doves sounds like a great idea maggie. I saw a film a while ago where they released butterflies. That was a lovely idea too. If you do not get fed up with me I shall keep popping back with ideas. !!!!

keep them coming. I think my husband has switched off. He's getting fed up hearing me go on about it.
My friend was married a few weeks ago - the ceremony took place in the remains of an ancient stone Palace.  It was lovely.
Hi Maggie, how about an autograph book that can be signed by the guests when the signing of the register is taking place?  Where guests can leave personal messages for the couple? An attendance record !!! I'm still thinking !!!
Hi maggie i arrived at the church (for my second wedding) in a horse drawn carrage and our reception was a spit barbeque when my husband and i swapped clothes halfway through and i really looked great in top hat and tails
